Annen, William (20 August 1900 - 2 January 1972)

Funeral services for William Annen, 71, of Loyal, who died January 2, in Neillsville, were held Wednesday, January 5, at 11 a.m. from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Norbert E. King officiated and burial was made in the parish cemetery. P. C. C. W. and Parish Rosary services were held at the Roycraft Funeral Home where the body of Mr. Annen was in state.

William Annen, who was born August 20, 1900, at Stetsonville, received his education in Abbotsford and Marshfield area schools. His marriage to the former Florence Pink took place February 11, 1930, in Marshfield. The Annens farmed in Iowa County for four years then moved to Medford and farmed in that area for a time before moving to a farm in the Town of Beaver. Mr. Annen, a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, retired 12 years ago.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four children, Mrs. Elroy (Mary Ann) Tapper of Wausau, John Annen of St. Paul, Mn, Thomas Annen of Crystal Lake, Il, and Mrs. Wayne (Debbie) Witt of Loyal; and 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Henry Annen of Texas and Raymond Annen of Louisiana; and three sisters, Mrs. Al (Mathilda) Dressel of Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Bertha Young of Wauwatosa, and Mrs. Frances Goessling of Janesville.

Pallbearers were: Tony Walters, Walter Westhoff, Walter Radue, Alex Loos, Leonard Denk and Jerry Denk.
