Edward Strangfeld, 83, of Neillsville died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at his daughter’s home in Fall Creek.

His family move to Christie when Ed was young and he attended the Uncle Sam Grade School. In 1956, he enlisted into the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict in Alaska. After his honorable discharge, he returned to work on the family farm. In 1960, Ed moved to Milwaukee and worked at American Motors for five years. During this time, he was united in marriage to Mary Davis in Milwaukee. After Ed had finished working for American motors, they moved back to Neillsville, and he worked at Weyerhauser and Rollohome in Marshfield before eventually being hired at the Nelson Muffler Factory in Neillsville. Ed worked at Nelson for 30 years before retiring.

Ed was a member of the United Church of Christ in Neillsville. Since retiring he has enjoyed traveling and collecting coins, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by three daughters, Marie (Wayne) Greeler of Neillsville, Lori Grabowski of Neillsville, and Melissa (Diane Sorensen) Phelps of Fall Creek; 12 grandchildren; one great grandson, Landon Parrot; a brother, Raymond (Carol) Strangfeld of Strum; and his wife, Kelly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Lynn Ann; his parents; and a sister, Virginia Deacon.
