Representative of Pickle Concern in our Village

W. C. McHugh, representative of the Glaser Crandell Co. of Chicago, was a business visitor in our village last week, trying to locate a pickle factory within our village.

But after making a few calls on the farmer in this territory and talking with the business men, Mr. McHugh left feeling that at the present time such an undertaking would be impossible.

We understand he was to pay from $1 to $3 per hundred pounds according to the grade of pickles, but the farmers felt that according to the work involved it would not pay them.

In talking to Mr. McHugh he said that he would return again in the spring to renew his acquaintances and to try and locate here with a station.

K. Andrews Now President

At a recent meeting of the directors of the Colby State Bank, K. Andrews was elected president to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Erastus Bowen, who was president from the date of organization, and R. G. Salter was elected cashier to succeed Mr. Andrews.

Mr. Andrews has been connected with the bank as cashier since organization and Mr. Salter as assistant cashier since 1906.

Miss Minnie Glenzer left Thursday for Chicago where she is employed as stenographer.
