Robinson, Robert Daniel (20 November 1926 - 19 February 2014) With Flag

Robert Daniel Robinson, 87, of Humbird died Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Tomah.

Robert was born Nov. 20, 1926, in Chicago to Lester and Veronica (Kibelowski) Robinson. He served as a medic in the U. S. Navy from 1943 to 1947. Robert married his high school sweetheart, Nellie Salmon, Nov. 21, 1947, in Chicago. To this union seven children were born.

Robert worked as a mechanic for most of his life. He started at Diamond T in Chicago and later worked for Armored Express and Good Humor. After moving to Fifield, WI, he operated Fifield Cash Store for a number of years. After farming in the Fairchild area for a few years he worked at Gunderson Chevrolet in Osseo and producing wood pellets in Humbird.

Robert enjoyed hunting, vacationing with his family and sharing his interest in history with them. He was a member of the American Legion in Chicago and the NRA.

Robert is survived by his wife, Nellie; children, Patricia Frezados of Chicago, Michelle Robinson of Superior, Denise (Bob) Williams of Superior and Daniel (Deborah) Robinson of Florence; one brother, Thomas Robinson of Cadott; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Veronica; son, Lester; daughters, Jennifer Robinson and Kathleen Luedke; grandson, Tamujin Walther; brothers, James and Lester Robinson; and sisters, Helen Borgen and Lorraine Malinowski.

Memorial services for Robert will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Schiefelbein Funeral Home in Osseo. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery in the Town of Mentor, Clark County, at Humbird.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home Wednesday.
