Wucki, Mary T. (18 March 1890 - 8 August 1971)

Funeral services for Mrs. Walter (Mary) Wucki, 81, of Rt. 2 Neillsville, who died August 8, were held Wednesday, August 11, at 10 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. Rev. Charles D. Brady officiated and burial was made in the parish cemetery. A rosary service was held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgas Funeral Home where the body of Mrs. Wucki was in state.

Mrs. Wucki, the daughter of Anton and Theressa (Cernik) Pociask, was born March 18, 1890, in Poland. She came to the United States at the age of 18 and settled in Chicago, Il. Her marriage to Walter Wucki took place there on August 28, 1910. The couple operated a store in Chicago for 13 years before coming to Clark County, where they lived on a farm in the Town of Washburn for 15 years. The Wucki’s operated the tavern on “Day Corners” for 13 years before selling it and retiring to a home on the Black River. They spent the winters with their son, Bernard, in Oshkosh.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three children, Robert Wucki of Rt. 1 Neillsville, Mrs. John (Helen) Cook of Oshkosh, and Bernard Wucki, also of Oshkosh; one brother and two sisters all living in Europe; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
