Kind, Darlene (24 OCT 1953)

Bouquets of fall flowers decorated the altar of Grace Methodist Church on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 24th, 1953 when Miss Darlene Kind, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kind, became the bride of Elmer J. Speich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Speich. The Rev. Arthur Riley performed the ceremony.

Miss Carol Drew sang "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord's Prayer" during the service.

The bride wore a gown of blue net over satin and carried a bouquet of yellow roses surrounded by white carnations and yellow pompoms.

Miss Viola Kramer, as maid of honor, wore an emerald green strapless gown with a lace bolero jacket. Her bouquet was like the bride's.

Gary Speich, Madison, brother of the groom, was best man. Orlando and Otto Kind Jr., brothers of the bride, served as ushers.

A 6:00 o'clock luncheon was served in the church dining room to 40 guests. Later relatives and friends assemble in the Colby Pavilion, where a reception was held.

The young couple will reside on the groom's farm northwest of Greenwood.

The bride is a graduate of the Greenwood High School with the class of 1950, and the groom graduate in 1941.

Guests from away who attended the wedding were: Miss Evelyn Kramer and Miss Viola Kramer, Watertown; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Speich, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Rasmussen and family, Marshfield.
