Guk, Bertha (18 August 1880 - 12 September 1971)

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Guk, 91, of Marshfield, who died September 12 in Neillsville, were held Wednesday, September 15, at 2 p.m. at Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant. The Rev. Walter Schultheiss of Marshfield officiated and burial was made in the Windfall Cemetery. The Gilbertson Funeral Home at Granton was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Guk, the former Bertha Prust, was born August 18, 1880, in Calumet County. She was educated in Town of Fremont Schools. Her marriage to Charles Guk took place July 31, 1898. The Guks lived on a farm in the Town of Lynn until 1945 when they moved to Granton. Mr. Guk died on October 25, 1959. Mrs. Guk sold her home in 1965 and made her home with her daughters thereafter. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield.

Survivors include six daughters: Mrs. Clarence (Adeline) Neinas of Chili, Mrs. Erland (Elsie) Engstrom of Neillsville, Mrs. George (Regina) Engstrom of Marshfield, Mrs. Ralph (Amanda) Johnson of Belvidere, Ill., Mrs. Gertrude Karolczak of Milwaukee and Mrs. Victor (Viola) Schlinkert of Neillsville. She is further survived by a sister, Mrs. Elsie Sternitzky, of Granton; three brothers, Adolph Prust of Minot, N. D., William Prust of New Albany, In., and Charles Prust of Granton; and 14 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Clarence Neinas, George Engstrom, Erland Engstrom, Ralph Johnson, Victor Schlinkert, and Arno Guk.
