Schulz, Ellen R. (Koch) (24 OCT 1928 - 23 NOV 2013)


Ellen R. (nee Koch) Schulz, 85, of West Allis, died Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Vitas Hospice in Wauwatosa.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 16, 2013, at Greenfield Park Lutheran Church, 1236 S. 115th St., West Allis. Interment followed at Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Greenfield Park Lutheran Church (1236 S. 115th St., West Allis, WI 53214) or to the West Allis Public Library Star Program (7421 W. National Ave., West Allis, WI 53214) for the purchase of large print books.

Ellen R. Schulz (Koch), West Allis, WI. Age 85, Ellen died peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at VITAS Hospice in Wauwatosa, WI.

Ellen was born October 24, 1928, in Stetsonville, WI. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stetsonsville. She married Julius "Bud" Schulz on June 21, 1947, also at Zion. Ellen and Bud moved to Milwaukee in 1950 and to West Allis in 1955.

She was employed at the J.C. Penney Distribution Center, Fulton Manufacturing Co., and M&I/Milwaukee County Bank. In retirement, she enjoyed reading, puzzles, playing cards, following the Milwaukee Brewers, and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by her brother Orin (Virginia) Koch, Hopkinsville, KY; daughter Linn, Nottingham, NH; son Alan (Kathryn Kleinhans), Waverly, IA; daughter Susan, West Allis, WI; grandsons Christopher and Paul Kleinhans-Schulz; cousin Doris Jende, Wauwatosa, WI; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Mathilda Koch, husband Julius Schulz, sister Beatrice Woodland, brother Dean who died in infancy, and son-in-law Tom Hall. Visitation from 9:30-11:00 AM and funeral service at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 16, 2013, at GREENFIELD PARK LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1236 So. 115th St., West Allis, WI.

Interment to follow at Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin, WI.
