Schneider, Florence E. (22 SEP 1921 - 1 JAN 2014)

Florence E. Schneider, age 92, of Colby, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 4, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. Father Daniel Hackel will officiate. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. Saturday, until the time of the service at the church in Colby. Burial will be in Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Colby.

Florence was born on September 22, 1921 to John and Stella (Noll) Hainzlsperger in the Town of Weston, Clark County, WI. She attended a country school in the Town of Hull. Florence then worked on the family farm until moving to Milwaukee to work as a maid. She was united in marriage to George Schneider in November 1942 in Colby, Wisconsin. After her marriage she was a housewife until the early 1960's when she worked at the Colby Elementary School in the cafeteria until the age of 75.

Florence was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers. She enjoyed picking berries, gardening, fishing, flowers and canning. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Florence is lovingly survived by her children: Verland (Sherry) Schneider of Colby, Melvin (Pat) Schneider of Beaver Dam, George (Delores) Schneider of Stratford, Florence (Everett) Johnson of Friendship and Dan (Darlene) Schneider of Stratford, 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Florence is preceded in death by her parents, her husband ; George, three brothers and one sister.
