Pleasant Ridge (27 Jul 1916)

Mrs. Ed. Huckstead will entertain the Ladies Aid Wednesday afternoon Aug. 2. Mrs. Huckstead will be assisted by Mrs. Arlo Huckstead and Mrs. Geo. Swann. Everybody cordially invited.

The young people will give an ice cream social at Arlo Huckstead’s Friday night, July 28. Everyone invited.

Mrs. George Howard and some others from here attended the funeral of Mike Hubing at Athens Saturday.

Edne Brown spent part of last week with the Raine girls. Mrs. Raine will spend a day at Eau Claire this week.

There will be an Epworth League business meeting at Myra Jahr’s Tuesday evening, Aug. 1st. Everyone cordially invited.

Mr. and Mrs. Ward of Milwaukee spent a day of last week at George Swann’s.

Donald Hughes and grandmother spent Sunday at Joe Counsell’s.

Mrs. Susan Counsell spent a few days of this week at O.E. Counsell’s.

Mr. and Mrs. Milo Brown spent Sunday with relatives in Neillsville.

A niece of Mr. and Mrs. Root is here from Minnesota to spend the summer with them.

John and Clayton Vine came down from Crandon last week to help his father with the harvest.

Miss Galligher of Neillsville spent the weekend with Marie Carter.

John Vine and wife will start Tuesday for a month’s visit with his sister [remainder of article unavailable for transcription]
