Sternitzky, Mr. and Mrs. Leo (28 Mar 1917 – 13 May 1967)

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Sternitzky of Granton, celebrated their golden anniversary of their marriage on Saturday, May 12. The couple were married by the Rev. Martin Haaz March 28, 1917, in Zion Lutheran Church, Granton.

A open house was held at the Spencer Municipal Building in Spencer from2 to 4 p.m. and a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Chrysanthemums were used for the couple’s corsage and boutonniere.

Leo Elmer Sternitzky, son of William and Ella Sternitzky, was born in the town of Lynn April 8. 1892, and attended school in that township. He lived in Lynn before his marriage and worked as a carpenter.

He still enjoys good health and does woodworking; his wife is also in good health and her hobbies are flower making and homemaking. Both are members of Grace Lutheran Church, Nasonville.

Mrs. Sternitzky is the former Edna Caroline Jensen, daughter of Herman and Otelia Jensen. She was born at Lynn August 14, 1899, and attended Popal School, Lynn.

After their marriage the Sternitzkys lived in Lynn for five years and since they have resided two mikes east of Lynn.

They have a son, Gerald of Loyal and three grandsons.

Attendants at the 1917 wedding and present for the occasion were Mrs. Alfred (Addie) Riedel, Granton; Carol Opelt, Neillsville; and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert (Frieda Williams) Sternitzky , Plymouth. Others came from Oconomowoc, Wausau, Milwaukee, Oshkosh, Eau Claire, Port Edwards, Waupaca, Neillsville, Wisconsin Rapids, Loyal, Marshfield, Chili,and Granton.
