Lueck, Elsie B. (13 November 1891 - 3 August 1971)

Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie B. Lueck, 79, of Neillsville, who died August 3, are to be held Friday, August 6, at 2 p.m. from St. John’s Lutheran Church at Christie. The Rev. Robert Bitter is to officiate and burial is to be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Georgas Funeral Home beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday and until 12:30 p.m. Friday when the body of Mrs. Lueck will be taken to the church to lie in state until the time of the services.

Elsie Lueck, the daughter of John and Anna (Marth) Wieting, was born November 13, 19891, in the Town of Pine Valley, where she received her education. Her marriage to Erick Lueck took place November 19, 1913, in the Town of Pine Valley. The couple farmed in the Town of York for 38 years. Mr. Lueck died September 4, 1949. Mrs. Lueck, who moved to Neillsville in 1951, was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Christie and a charter member of its Ladies Aid Society.

Survivors include four children, Mrs. Alfred (Lucille) Boon of Greenwood, Wilmer Lueck of Rt. 1 Greenwood, Mrs. Vernard (Bernita) Swieso of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Wallace (Norma) Erickson of Neillsville; a sister, Mrs. Ida Carl of Greenwood; a brother, Tony Wieting of Neillsville; and 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie B. Lueck, 79, of Neillsville, who died August 3, were held Friday, August 6, at 2 p.m. from St. John’s Lutheran Church at Christie. The Rev. Pallbearers for Mrs. Lueck were her grandsons, Donald, Duane, Harold and Melvin Boon, Gary Swieso, and Roger Erickson. Mrs. Harold Mayer sang “Asleep in Jesus, Blessed Sleep. She was accompanied by Mrs. Karen Hoppa. The hymns “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Seek Where Ye May, to Find a Way” were sung by the congregation.

Those from out of town who attended the services included Mr. and Mrs. Vernard Swieso, Gary, Karen, and Jeffery of Denver, Co., Mrs. Marjorie Fahim and Melanie Fahim of Detroit, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Voss, Mrs. Agnes Bender and Mrs. Roger Bender of Loyal, Mrs. Lloyd Grassman of Granton, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hoffman, Mrs. lena Hoffman, and Mr and Mrs. Jim Christenson of Wabasso, Mn., Mr. and Mrs. Ted Erickson of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Carl of Neenah, Mrs. Leona Schoenherr and Diana of Stratford, Mrs. Ida Carl and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Carl and family of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lueck and family of Rib Lake, Mrs. LaRay C. Norlin of Tomahawk, and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Rhodes and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Thiede of Marshfield.

Many others from Greenwood, Christie and the Neillsville area also attended the services.
