Kromer, Augusta ) 21 May 1877 – 23 Jan. 1967)

Mrs. Augusta Kromer, 89, Loyal, died at 4:20 a.m. Monday, January 23, at the Clark County Hospital, Owen, where she had been a patient for the last two years.

Services were held Wednesday, January 25 at the Myre Funeral Home, Loyal, with the Rev. Lelan Shaw officiating at 2 p.m. Graveside rites will be held Thursday a.m. at the Riverside Cemetery, Appleton with the Rev. Christian Thearl, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church of Appleton officiating.

The former Augusta Lenz was born at Manitowoc on May 21, 1877, and at the age of 14 years moved with her parents to Kaukauna, Her marriage to Jacob Kromer, who preceded her in death took place April 19, 1896 at Kaukauna.

After their marriage, the couple made their home in Appleton, and since 1946 she has resided with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Krueger.

She was a graduate of Trinity Lutheran Church at Appleton and had served as treasurer of the Women’s Society for many years. She also was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America at Appleton.

Survivors include a son Earl G. Kromer, Two Rivers; a daughter, Mts. Gilbert (Helen) Kruger, Loyal; two brothers, Art and Elmer Lenz, Green Bay; three grandchildren; eight grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
