Coleman, Dorothy Jean (16 October 1932 - 24 August 2013)

Dorothy Coleman, 80, of Granton died Saturday, Aug. 24, 12013, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Dorothy Jean Coleman was born Oct. 16, 1932, in Ottawa, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Bertha (Anderson) Thoson. She was united in marriage to Ronald James Coleman in 1950 in Silver Springs, MS. While Ron worked at Caterpillar, Dorothy stayed at home and worked as a terrific housewife, a great cook and a wonderful mother. In 1974, they bought a hobby farm in Granton, and Dorothy continued her work as a housewife.
Ron died in 1996, and for the past 13 years, Dorothy lived in Seneca, IL.

She is survived by five sons, Jim (Debbie) Coleman and Greg Coleman both of Seneca, IL; Mel (Becky) Coleman of Granton, Brian (June Schneider) of Arpin, and Brett (Dawn) Coleman of Neillsville; 10 grandchildren, Heather Alexander, Mike Coleman, Stephanie Coleman, Andrew Coleman, Monique Coleman, Brittany May, Joshua May, Nicholas May, Levi Duda and Tanner Duda; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Lila and Gavin; and two sisters, Mary Glacier of Byhalia, MS, and Avilda Swartz of Mendota, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Fr. Joseph V. Varkey will officiate. Interment will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Chili. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Gesche Funeral Home.
