Miss Mary Ellen Kubera, daughter of mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kubera, route 3, Thorp, and Roger Charles Kell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Kell, Withee, were married at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 31.

The Rev. LeRoy A. Urman officiated in St. John’s Lutheran Church at Withee. Mrs. Ted Klabon was soloist and Miss Sharon Heideman, organist. The church was decorated with arrangements of gladioli.

Miss Kubera, given in marriage by her brother-in-law, Fred Pearson of Ladysmith, wore a gown of tiered lace ruffles having a square neckline decorated with rhinestones. Her small veil was secured to a rhinestone-effect crown and she carried a bouquet of American beauty roses and white carnations.

Mrs. Barbara Blumenstein, Wausau, in a peach-colored dress of satin, served as the bride’s matron of honor. Dressed identically the same were the bridesmaids, Misses Cheryl and Charlotte Kell of Withee. The flower girl, Grace Peleschak, route 2, Thorp, wore a dress similar to the bride’s and carried red roses and white carnations.

Attending the groom as best man was Eugene Blumenstein, Wausau, and groomsmen were Andrew Kubera Jr., Milwaukee and Harry Kubera, Waukegan, Ill. Duane Baker, Dorchester, and Mark Ruesch, Medford did ushering duties.

A dinner at 4:30 p.m. was served in the Legion Hall at Thorp, where a dance and evening reception also took place from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The new matron graduated from Thorp High School in 1962 and has worked in Milwaukee and Duluth, Minn. Her husband graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1963 and is employed at Employers Mutuals in Wausau, where they will make their home at 204 ½ S. Sixth Ave.
