LORRAINE MILLER BECOMES MRS. DAVID SMITH

Wedding vows were read at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Owen on Saturday, October 17, when Miss Lorraine Miller became the bride of David Earl Smith. The Rev. Arnold Woodring performed the 3:00 o’clock wedding ceremony.

The bride, the grandaughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Mowery of Owen, were given in marriage by her uncle, L. A. Miles, to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Smith of rural Owen.

Mrs. Woodring played for the wedding and Miss Diane Burhop sang, ‘Dawning” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” A basket of white Fuji mums centered the altar on which there also were candelabras.

When the bride-elect entered church she was wearing a floor-length full skirted gown of taffeta with front lace panel and all-lace top. Her veil of illusion was secured to a bridal headpiece and she carried an arrangement of white Fuji mums and pink sweetheart roses.

Miss Sheryl Hardrath, Marshfield, was maid of honor and Miss Beverly Smith, Eau Claire, the bridesmaid. They were attired in peacock blue floor-length gowns with emerald green trains. Their flowers were white spider chrysanthemums secured with matching blue ribbons.

Jack Rittenhouse, Stevens Point, was asked to be best man. Bob Missling, River Falls, was groomsman and the ushers were Ken Thorson and Dan Feeney.

At 3:30 p.m. a wedding reception was held in the church parlors. Among those coming for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Miles and family, Detroit, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Eric Mosier, Clarkston, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Linwood Harris and family, Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mowery and family, Menomonee Falls; Miss Carolyn Stone, Hibbing, Minn.; and Mr. and Mrs. Oluf Blgard, Minneapolis, Minn.

The new Mrs. Smith who attended Owen-Withee High School, Owen, is employed in Eau Claire by Fabri-Tek. Her husband, who was graduated from the same high school in 1961, and two years later from the Eau Claire Vocational School at Eau Claire, is a carpenter’s apprentice working for G. G. Arnold, Eau Claire.

The Smith’s address in Eau Claire is 1570 E. Madison St.
