Wedding vows were exchanged Saturday, September 5, at 9:30 p.m. by Miss June Crockett and Robert Schmidt at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville. Rev. Bernard Kelly officiated at the Nuptial Mass.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Crockett, Neillsville; the bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schmidt of Loyal.

The church was decorated for the occasion with green, toast and white gladioli.

The bride walked down the white carpeted aisle on the arm of her father, who presented her in marriage. She was dressed in a gown of French imported chantilly lace and tulle over bridal taffeta. The dress featured a scoop neckline of scalloped lace trimmed with sequins and long tapered sleeves and fitted basque bodice. The bouffant skirt was tiers of lace and tulle, alternating with sway tiers. Her veil was of silk illusion, held in a brilliant crown of imported crystals. She carried a crescent bouquet of red roses and white mums.

The matron of honor, Mrs. Andrew Lindner, Muskego, the groom’s sister, wore a gown of toast colored chiffon and taffeta. The dress featured a round neckline, cap sleeves and a bell shaped skirt, accenting a wateau panel of nylon chiffon. She carried a bouquet of bronze and white mums.

The bridesmaids were Miss Catherine Crockett, sister of the bride, and Miss Alice Larson, a friend of the bride. The aides were attired similar to the matron of honor.

Preceding the bride down the aisle was the ring bearer, David Crockett, brother of the bride.

The miniature bride, Lynette Goetz, was dressed in a gown similar to the bride and carried a colonial bouquet of red roses and white mums.

The best man was Bruce Crockett, a brother of the bride. Groomsmen were Eugene Schmidt, brother of the groom and William Houn, a friend of the groom. They wore white carnation boutonieers.

Acting as ushers were Ronald Schmidt and Edward Crockett.

Following the ceremony, the bride placed a bouquet of blue and white carnations on the Altar of the Blessed Virgin while the choir sang “On This Day, Oh Beautiful Mother.”

A dinner followed the ceremony with a reception in the afternoon, followed by a supper in the Legion Hall, Neillsville.

The bride attended the Neillsville High School and has been employed at the A&P Store, Neillsville. The groom attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School and the Loyal High School. He is engaged in farming.

Following a honeymoon in the west the couple will reside on their farm in the town of York.
