Smagacz, Frank (? - 18 April 1957)

Frank Smagacz, 68 of City Point passed away at the Krohn Hospital, Black River Falls Thursday afternoon, April 18 after an illness of three weeks. He has been in poor health for the past several months. Mr. Smagacz has been a resident of Jackson County for the past forty years as a farmer in the City Point area and for the past eighteen years he has been an employee of the Jackson County Highway Department.

He is survived by his wife, Victoria; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Mertens, of Elgin, Illinois; Mrs. Josephine Tomsyck, of Pittsville and Mrs. Sophie Filipiak of Chicago, four sons, Louis of Chicago, Stanley of Wisconsin Rapids, Joseph of Middlesex, New Jersey and Frank who is with the Armed Services and stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. He is also survived by two sisters, Catherine Rybski of Chicago and Josephine Chylinski of Detroit and one brother, Michael of Black River Falls. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Smagacz were Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. from the Langlois-Galston Funeral Home in Black River Falls and at 10 a.m. from Martyr’s Chapel at City Point with Rev. Fr. Hubert officiating. Interment was made in the Spaulding Cemetery. The Langlois-Galston Funeral Home had charge of the service. Rosary was said at 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
