Rueth, Gertrude Mary (13 NOV 1965)

Wedding vows were exchanged by Miss Gertrude Mary Rueth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rueth, Loyal and Gerald William Kolb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kolb, route 5, Marshfield on Saturday, November 13, at 12:30 p.m.

The Very Rev. Norbert E. King officiated in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, Michael Tucker presided at the organ and the children’s choir sang hymns at the Mass and “Ave Maria.”  Two bouquets of chrysanthemums were placed on the altar.

The bride wore a floor length gown fashioned with a scalloped neckline, Basque bodice of lace, and a bouffant skirt formed by lace ruffles with a cut away overskirt of nylon organza. Lace ruffled tiers down the back formed a full chapel train.  Her four tier veil of silk illusion was secured to a pearl and aurora borealis crystal crown accented by small lace bows.  She carried a cascade of yellow jack-o-lantern roses interspersed with salal leaves.

Miss Betty Burke, Park Falls, served as maid of honor and Miss Cathy Kolb, route 5 Marshfield, was the bridesmaid.  They carried yellow Sonora roses with salal leaves in a cascade arrangement of white chrysanthemums and wore cranberry floor length velvet gowns.  The gowns were styled with rounded necklines.  Each had a headpiece of matching fabric bow with a pouf veil.

Jerry Kelty, Greenwood served the groom as best man and John Rueth, Loyal as the groomsman.

A reception at 2 o’clock was held followed by a 4:30 p.m. dinner and dancing that evening all took place at the Eagles Hall, Marshfield.

The bride is a graduate of the Loyal Public High School and is employed by General Telephone Co., Marshfield.  The groom is a graduate of Columbus High School and is employed by Diary Belt Cheese Division of Land O’Lakes Creameries Inc. at Spencer.  After a wedding trip to the northern part of Wisconsin they will make their home in Marshfield.

Out of town guests attending the wedding came from Cadott, Edgar, Stratford, Hewitt, Auburndale, Abbotsford, Wisconsin Rapids, Spencer, South Milwaukee, Madison, Whitewater, Marshfield, Loyal and the surrounding area.
