Kaufmann, Mr. and Mrs. Everett A. (Silver - 24 February 1970)

Mr. and Mrs. Everett A. Kauffman of Rt. 1 Chili were honored at their home Sunday afternoon with an open house in observance of their Silver wedding anniversary. More than 50 friends and neighbors called on them bringing cards, gifts and best wishes. Included in the guests were the Rev. and Mrs. Everette Ratzloss of Marshfield. He officiated at their wedding which was the first ceremony he had performed.

Also present were the Kauffmans’ daughters, Kathy of Minneapolis, Minn., and Jean of Madison, who had planned the day for their parents, and Mr. Kauffman’s mother, Mrs. Emma Kauffman of Neillsville, and her sister, Mrs. Nellie Block of Elgin, Ill., who is staying with her. A son, Michael of Michigan City, Ind. was unable to make the trip but called them during the day.

Mr. and Mrs. Kauffman were married February 24, 1945, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schlinsog. Mr. Kauffman’s sister, now Leone Didier of Anaheim, Calif., was maid-of-honor and Harold Schlinsog was best man. Mrs. Didier was unable to attend the observation.

Mrs. Kauffman was born in East Chicago, Ind., where she received her education. She went to Czechoslovakia to visit relatives for four years. Sometime later she came here to visit the parents of a friend and here she stayed. She has never ceased to appreciate the friendships she has known here. Mr. Kauffman, a native of this vicinity, is a member of the Clark County Board and chairman of the Town of Fremont.
