Greenwood (15 January 1970)

Dale Brux attended the funeral of Harold Raebiack in Wonewoc Sunday.

Guests Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Brux were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gregorich, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Kowieski of Auburndale and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Kesler and son, Oliver, Jr. of Manawa.

Jim and Joe Plunkett returned to Milwaukee Saturday after spending a week with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Harry Plunkett.

Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Stafford and family of Neenah spent Wednesday and Thursday with his parents, Mr and Mrs. Kenneth Stafford.

Miss Judith Brux returned to Stevens Point after spending two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Brux.

Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Kesler and son, Oliver, Jr., returned Sunday to Manawa after spending several days with relatives and friends in Greenwood, Colby and Stratford.

Kenneth Stafford was admitted Tuesday to a hospital in Marshfield. His brother, Harry Stafford of Greenwood is a patient at the Veterans Hospital in Madison.

Mr. and Mrs. Viv Carteron returned Monday after spending the holidays in Watertown with their daughters, Mrs. Allison Dittmar and Mrs. Cyril Spangler and their families.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart and her sister, Mrs. Veda Mertens of Stanley were weekend visitors of the Orv Matzke home in Wausau.

Mrs. John Zimmer, Jr., is a hospital patient in Marshfield.

Mr and Mrs. James Kealey and six children of Minneapolis spent several days with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Plunkett. Other weekend visitors were their son, George Plunkett and family of La Crosse.

The Women’s Guild met in the Immanuel United Church Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Henry Vollrath presided. Devotions were led by by Mrs. Phillip Vollrath. The Rev. David Logue gave the Bible lesson. A report was given on sick calls and fruit baskets for shut-ins for December. Mrs. Quentin Irvine will make sick calls during January. Birthdays observed were those of Mrs. Emma Hium, Mrs. Elmer Kuester, Mrs. Jerold Richmond, Mrs. Arno Miller and Mrs. Herbert Horn. Members were reminded to attend the annual church meeting on January 18 at 2 p.m. for important business. A lunch was served by Mrs. Quinton Irvine and Mrs. George Kuester. The next meeting will be held February 4. Hostesses will be Mrs. Clarence Liebzeit and Mrs. Elmer Kuester.
