The Greenwood Roller Mill Co. recently received an order for a big shipment of rye flour for New York, and the mill will run night and day for two weeks to fill the order promptly.

A County teachers' institute will be held at Thorp next week, Feb. 23 and 24. A complete program for the two days' session has been sent out by the county superintendent.

Grandma Rossman was surprise last Monday afternoon by thirteen of her friends to remind her of her seventy-second birthday. The ladies had a nice lunch with Mrs. Rossman and presented her with a gold hat pin as a reminder of the occasion.

Gold Medal condensed milk, 10 cents or 3 for 25 cents at Burch's.

Albert Schwarze, W. Glenz, Art Haglund, Harold Stabnow, Dr. Boeckman, Bessie McCormick and Stella Masters were guests of Miss Esther Quast at a party at the Quast home in Eaton last Sunday afternoon.

About twenty-five neighbors and friends of Mrs. Frank Blecha of Eaton surprised her on Tuesday evening, the occasion being her thirtieth birthday. Several from this city were present and report a very enjoyable evening. Mrs. Blecha was presented with a cut glass berry dish.

The Thursday Club will meet with Mrs. Barber Thursday, Feb. 25.

Jacob Volk is very seriously sick with typhoid fever.

The Kinds Daughters meet with Mrs. A.P. Raymond Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 28. A good attendance is desired.

There will be preaching services in the M.E. Church Friday afternoon at 3:30. The presiding elder will preach.

Emil Drummond was home over Sunday from La Crosse.

Mrs. Atley Leatherdale of Spokeville was the guest of her sister, Mrs. G. Phillips, over Sunday.

Mrs. George Van Voorhis has recently purchased the Huntzicker property across from the post office, and will remodel it for two families.

John Huntzicker was a caller in our burg Saturday.

Mrs. John booth has been quite ill the past week.

The Ladies Aid will not meet this week.

O.A. Anderson was home from Stevens Point over Sunday with his family.

Walter Glenz spent Sunday with relatives at Fall Creek.

One new pair of sleighs left, will sell cheap. -- A.C. Barr.

A dance given by the gentlemen to the ladies in return for the Leap Year dance on New Year's night was given in Woodman Hall last Thursday evening. Quite a number were present and enjoyed a pleasant evening. Music was furnished by the Kid Orchestra.

Mr. and Mrs. F.H. Pfunder of Superior are visiting in the city.

Mrs. W.E. Marsh of Colby was a guests in the city the first of the week.

Miss Allie Williams received a visit from her father, John Williams of Necedah, at the Drummond home from Saturday until Wednesday.

E.T. Burch left yesterday morning for Chicago to buy his spring stock. He will stop at Waukesha to see his daughter Edna.

Eben Ketchpaw and family have moved here from Fond du Lac and are moving into the Tatro residence. Eben has secured the position of agent at the F. & N.E. depot. He started work last week.

We were all quite pleased to see the farmers out at the meeting of the Farmers' and Citizens' Club Tuesday evening. Come out again boys and help us along. We need your cooperation.

Manager Peters of the telephone company reports three new phones on their southeast line. They are Geo. Offord, Stanley Stoneberg and Fred Hiking.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Binning and son Lester of Unity visited with Mr. and Mrs. F.E. Jaasted Saturday and Sunday.

The Wuethrich creamery had a narrow escape from fire yesterday noon. The boiler room was discovered to be afire with flames running to the ceiling. A little quick work on the part of those who were there saved the building.
