Seaman, August  (? – 28 FEB 1914)

The Berlin Evening Journal of March 3rd, 1914 says in the obituary of August Seaman Sr., father of John Seaman of the town of Sherwood:

“With the passing of August Seaman on February 28th, 1914 Berlin loses her first Polish citizen, a pioneer largely known, a good father, and a good citizen.  The funeral was held from St. Stanislaus Church, St. Stanislaus Society, of which deceased was a charter member, turned out in full force, marching from the home to the church and escorting the remains to their final resting place in St. Stanislaus cemetery.  The funeral was largely attended and all of the children of deceased were present.  Deceased founded this St. Stanislaus Society in Berlin and as a musician was a member of the firs band and orchestra Berlin ever had.”
