Kohlnhofer, Mr. and Mrs. Francis (54th - 26 October 1969)

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kohlnhofer celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary Sunday, October 26. There were guests of honor at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Kohlnhofer who hosted the event. They were married October 26, 1915, At the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood.

Mr. Kohlnhofer was born January 30, 1897, in Springenberg, Czechoslovakia, Bohmerwald and came to America in 1904, settling near Manitowoc. In 1911 he moved to Greenwood. His wife, the former Margaret Schober, who was born near Millston in Jackson County on July 17, 1895, moved to the Greenwood area in 1911. After their marriage they settled on a farm four miles northeast of Greenwood and lived there until 1949, when they retired and moved into the city.

The Kohlnhofer’s have two daughters and five sons, Mrs. Joseph (Barbara) DeMar of McHenry, Ill., John of Albany, Ore., Mrs. Joseph (Magdaline) Kettner of Menomonie, Victor of Lakeville, Minn., Clayton and Francis of Greenwood, and Joseph of Milwaukee. The family includes 37 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Present for the occasion were: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kettner, Sr., and family of Menomonie; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Reinke of Reedsville; Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Kohlnhofer and family, Mrs. Julia Koci, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Kohlnhofer and family, Mike Brecht, Miss Judy Kohlnhofer and Mr. and Mrs. Casper Shober.
