William Alperstett, 89, formerly of Greenwood, died October 15, at the Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, where he was admitted October 6.

Mr. Alperstett, son of Andrew and Bertha (Fiddler) Alperstett, was born October 12, 1880, in the Town of Warner. In 1909 he was married to Ella Jones. They had a daughter, Esther. He was married in May 1919 to Selma Braun. They had a son, Melvin. She died in August, 1942. He farmed eight miles northwest of Greenwood and later sold the farm to his son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Alperstett. He had resided in the Clark County Home for the Aged in Greenwood for two years and the last five years at Memorial Home in Neillsville. Mr. Alperstett was a past supervisor of the Town of Warner and a member of the Immanuel Church.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Henry (Esther) Buehl* (poor copy, so hope this is correct) of Caldwell, Id.; a son, Melvin, of Greenwood; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Daughtery of Steuben; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Immanuel United Church. The Rev. David Logue officiated. Burial was made in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Harold Horn, Adolph Wessel, Leroy Metcalf, John Seibold, Albert Wesel and Hubert Horn.

People from a distance who came for the funeral were Mrs. Wayne Rear of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Noel Daughtery of Steuben; Mr. and Mrs. William Rodgers and family of Waupaca; Miss Carol Alperstett of La Crosse; and Miss Connie Alperstett of Madison.

(*In checking other family obits, I find Esther was married twice or possibly three times, as I find Hortsman and Rentel, plus whatever the name here is for sure.)
