Becker, Carol (Marriage - 27 September 1969)

United in marriage Saturday, September 27, at 2 p.m. were Miss Carol Becker of Elk Grove, Ill., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Becker of Neillsville, and Kevin McManus, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin McManus of Chicago, Ill. The wedding took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Rev. George M. Nelson performed the double-ring ceremony before approximately 175 guests.

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride chose a floor-length Camelot-style gown of white satin, with long sleeves trimmed at the wrist with appliquéd Alencon lace. The bodice and neck were appliquéd with seed pearls and Alencon lace, as was her matching Camelot headpiece. Near the hem of the skirt was mo re lace. A full-length train completed the dress. She carried a white glamelia, surrounded by stephanotis and ivy.

Mrs. Walter Schenk of Rolling meadows, Ill., served as matron-of-honor. Miss Linda McManus of Bellwood, Ill. and Miss Lynette Becker of Neillsville were bridesmaids. They wore floor-length semi A-line aqua blue gowns. Embroidered lace trimmed the necklines and elbow-length sleeves. Each carried an antique basket of aqua carnations, purple asters, lavender daisies and baby’s breath.

Jim McManus of Chicago, Ill., was bestman. Tom McManus of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Don Becker of Milwaukee were groomsmen.

Danny McManus was ringbearer and Cindy Schenk was flowergirl.

Nuptial music was furnished by the children’s choir of St. Mary’s church. Vases of white gladioli, aqua carnations and white daisy ‘mums, decorated the church.

A reception was held at Bali Hai Supper Club.

Upon their return October 8 from a wedding trip to Athens, Greece, they will be at home at IN 559 Newton, Glen Ellyn, Ill. Both Mr. and Mrs. McManus are employed by United Airlines at O’Hare Field, Chicago.
