Pogue, Naomi Lee (Marriage - 13 September 1969)

Naomi Lee Pogue, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Schultz of Chippewa Falls, and William Eldon Wiesjahn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Embke of Rt. 1 Neillsville, were united in marriage September 13 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. N. Schuh officiated at the 1:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony before the 180 guests. Rose-pink flower bouquets were place at the church altar.

The bride and groom and their attendants approached the altar in couples.

The bride chose a floor-length gown of white dotted organza with eyelet border at the hemline, and featuring tiered eyelet organza bell sleeves. The neckline was accented with flower appliqué and the empire waist was marked with a pink ribbon. Her scallop-edged mantilla was attached to a pillbox of flower appliqué and pink ribbon. She carried a formal cascade of cymbidium orchids, pink roses, ivy, leath leaf ferns accented with eucalyptus greens and ribbon streamers.

Miss Brenda Willkom of Mount Mary College, Milwaukee, was maid-of-honor. Mrs. Charles Fenske of Franklin and Mrs. Kameron Mafi of Milwaukee were bridesmaids. Their gowns of rose floral print featured a rose bow and streamers at the empire waists. Each carried garden baskets of pixie carnations in shades of pink, with pink sweetheart roses and assorted greens. Tiny rosebuds were attached to their hair.

Roger Sackman of Athens was bestman. Charles Fenske of Franklin and James Wasserburger of Two Rivers were groomsmen. Ushering duties were performed by Joel Willkom of Stevens Point and Harold Drescher of Neillsville.

Francine Coulliard of Owen was flowergirl, and Roger Roehl of Neillsville served as ringbearer.

Miss Lynn Willkom of Madison was vocalist and Mrs. Frank Wesley of Marshfield was organist. Chanters were from Our Lady of Peace parish at Marshfield.

Pink roses and white carnations imbedded in fern sprays decorated the tables at the reception and dinner at St. John’s hall following the ceremony. A wedding dance was held Saturday night at the American Legion hall in Neillsville. Decorations were of rose and pink.

The bride is a 1965 graduate of Columbus High School in Marshfield and graduated from Wisconsin State University-Stevens Point in January, 1969. She is a first grade teacher in the Cleveland Elementary School in Manitowoc.

The groom, a Neillsville High School graduate in 1963 and a Wisconsin State University-Stevens Point graduate in 1967, is an assistant manager of Montgomery Ward’s mid-cities mall at Manitowoc.

They will reside at 1325 S. 9th Street, Manitowoc.
