O. E. PARKINSON FINAL RITES CONDUCTED FRIDAY

Funeral services for Oscar Parkinson a long time resident of Owen, were held at the Hoeper-Kraut Funeral Home Friday afternoon, August 21. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers were H. M. Wollum, W. J. Mahoney Sr., Norbert Pabich, Emery Erickson, Emil F. Hansen and Robert Habighorst.


Mr. Parkinson was born May 31, 1893, in Cambria, Wisconsin. He received his formal education in the Medford Public Schools and Appleton Business college. His marriage to Emaline Scherf took place January 15, 1919, in Withee. After residing in Medford for four years they moved to Owen where he accepted a position with the Owen Canning Co., in 1922 as an accountant. He also served as an accountant for the Master Package Corporation until 1927, where he became general superintendent of the firm, a position he held until his death.

Mr. Parkinson served as Justice of the Peace for the City of Owen and on the Clark County Board of Supervisors for over 25 years. He was a director of Wisconsin Taxpayers Association and Clark County Red Cross Chapter. He was also a member of Owen Kiwanis Club at one time serving as president of the club.

He is survived by his wife of Owen, one son, Galen and three grandchildren, all of Mosinee.

Attending the services were relatives and friends from Eau Claire, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Berwyn, Ill., Stetsonville, Mosinee, Colby, Marshfield, Neillsville, Chippewa Falls, Prairie du Chien, Thorp, Westboro, Greenwood, Madison and New Auburn.
