Stuve, Earl U. (? - August 1969)

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 30, from the Humbird United Methodist Church for Earl U. Stuve, 68. The Rev. Ralph walker officiated. Burial was made in mentor Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Earl Zimmerman, Art Allen, Art Zerber, Levi Shirley, Milton Washburn and John Phillips. Mrs. Edith Smith was organist and Mrs. Keith Johnson was soloist.

Mr. Stuve is survived by four brothers, Howell and john of Owen and Raymond and Manly of Humbird; and three sisters, Mrs. Karl (Almira) Helwig of Danbury, Mrs. Margaret Martin of Humbird and Mrs. Dudley (Helen) Short of Wessington Springs, S. D.

He was a graduate of Humbird high School and for many years was employed as a ship wheelsman on the Great lakes. He retired in 1963.

Among those from away attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Karl Helwig of Danbury; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Williams and family of Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Howell Stuve and daughter, Dorothy, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Stuve, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Short, Wessington Springs, S. D.
