Account of the Accident: Longwood one-vehicle crash claims driver’s life
By Todd Schmidt

Clark County’s first fatal vehicle accident of 2013 occurred Thursday evening in the Town of Longwood.

Authorities are investigating a one vehicle crash that occurred on CTH O south of Oak Road. The Clark County Sheriff’s Department received a 9-1-1 call shortly after 7 p.m. reporting the accident.

The initial investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling south on CTH O and began to enter the west ditch. The male driver appeared to have overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll.

It is likely the driver was not wearing his seatbelt, as he was ejected from the vehicle. Clark County Coroner Richard Schleifer pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

The Owen-Withee Ambulance and Fire Department responded to the scene. The Clark County Sheriff’s Department is continuing the investigation into the crash.

The name of the deceased is being withheld due to notification of family members.
