Mathison, Ole (11 NOV 1874 – 27 AUG 1964)

Ole M. Mathison, West Maple St., Stanley, died Thursday, Aug. 27, at 10:05 p.m. in Stanley.

He was born in Norway on November 11, 1874, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Mathison. He came to the United States when he was six years old, settling in Porters Mills, Wis. He lived in the Stanley area until 1897; then moved to Eau Claire until 1937. He moved back to Stanley and had resided there since.

Mr. Mathison is survived by his wife, Anna, two sons, Gerhard, Thorp, Wis., and Gustav, Gaines, Mich.; one daughter, Mrs. John (Frances) Wirth of Pensacola, Fla., one sister, Miss Gunda Mathison, and ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one child in infancy, seven brothers and one sister.

He was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Stanley.

Funeral services were held at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Stanley at 1:30 p.m. on Monday; Rev. Carl W. Peters officiating.

Burial was in the East Side Cemetery.
