Hatlestad, Lois Jean (Marriage - 23 August 1969)

At 2 p.m., August 23, Miss Lois Jean Hatlestad, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred G. Hatlestad, was united in marriage to Dallas Loy Wuethrich, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wuethrich, Jr., of Greenwood, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Withee. The Rev. Leroy Urman performed the double-ring ceremony before 225 guests. The bride was given in marriage by her father before an altar of yellow gladioli and white pompoms.

She chose a white Camelot empire-style gown, with softly pleated skirt and train of rayon, and silk organza with re-embroidered flowers strewn on the front of skirt. Medallion lace wreathed the demure, high neck bodice, puffy cuffs and hem. Her bouffant elbow-length veil was secured to a matching medallion lace headpiece accented with Alencon petals, trimmed with sparkling crystals and lustrous pearls. Her flowers were yellow roses and white stephanotis with a detachable white orchid.

Mrs. Roger (Barb) Dettmering of Baraboo served her sister as matron-of-honor. Miss Diane Peissig of Madison, Mrs. Trudy Tytor of Madison, and Mrs. Phillip (Diane) Mattes, Jr., of Thorp, were bridesmaids. They wore identical Nile green empire-waist floor-length dotted Swiss gowns, accented with crocheted lace jabots. Their sheer sleeves were trimmed with the same lace. They wore matching crocheted lace hats, each trimmed with a velvet streamer. Each carried a colonial bouquet of yellow carnations and white pompoms.

Bestman was John Johnson of Greenwood. Sam Dunn of Eau Claire, David Hatlestad of Withee and Phillip Mattes, Jr., of Thorp, were groomsmen. James Hatlestad of Thorp and Keith Stump of Greenwood served as ushers.

Mrs. Herman Rabska presided at the organ and Sue West sang, “O Perfect Love” and “The Wedding Prayer.”

The church parlors were decorated in Nile green and white trim for a 4:30 p.m. dinner. A reception and dance wee held later at the Meadowview Country Club at Owen for 300 guests.

The bride is a 1968 Owen-Withee graduate and attended the Madison Academy of Beauty Culture. The groom graduated from Greenwood High School in 1964. He attended Wisconsin State University-River Falls and is presently employed at the Grassland Butter Company of Greenwood.
