White gladiolus and yellow pom-poms adorned the altar of St. Hedwig’s chapel, Thorp, for the marriage of Miss Mary Ann Szczech and Bill Boh, Jr. Rev. Edward Masalewicz performed the ten a.m. double ring ceremony and altar boys were Leon Konieczny, nephew of the bride and Larry Boh, brother of the groom. A gladiola and pom-pom bouquet was placed by the bride at the Blessed Virgin Altar.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Szczech, Thorp and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Boh, Sr., Greenwood.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a luxurious floor length gown of Chantilly-type lace and gossamer sheer tulle. A scalloped bateau neckline etched with sequins and long traditional tapered sleeves accented the fitted bodice. The bouffant skirt was fashioned with lace peplum falling into peaks over gathered tulle.

The groom’s sister, Miss Beverly Boh, was maid of honor and bridesmaid was Miss Carol Kokaly, cousin of the groom. They wore mint green street length dresses of chiffon over taffeta with back interest of street length panel starting at neckline. They carried colonial bouquets of yellow pom-poms.

The bride’s niece, Donna Konieczny, was flower girl, wearing a dress identical to that of the bride, which was made by the bride’s sister, Mrs. George Konieczny of New Berlin, Wisconsin. Ring bearer was the bride’s nephew, Gregory Kotecki of Altoona.

The bride’s brother, Joe Szczech, Jr. was best man and groomsman was Dan Boh, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Frank Szczech, the bride’s brother, and Martin Kokaly, the groom’s uncle.

A reception following the ceremony was held at St. Hedwig’s parish hall, and a dance was also held in the evening with music furnished by Emil Kodl and his band.

The bride graduated from Thorp High School and Accredited schools of Beauty Culture at Eau Claire. The groom attended Greenwood High School and Eau Claire State College and is presently employed at Marshfield Homes, Marshfield, where they will be making their home.
