Kenyon, Mr. and Mrs. Edward (Gold – 4 DEC 1949)


Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kenyon celebrated their golden wedding Sunday, December 4 with a big family dinner and get-together at the home of their son Bernard and family at Unity, route 1. There were about 75 guests at the chicken dinner.

Edward Kenyon was born in New York State January 2, 1872 and Mrs. Kenyon, the former Edna Fuller, daughter of George and Helen Fuller, was born at Unity on February 10, 1882. They were married at Spencer December 4, 1899 and after their marriage they lived at Tunnel City on a farm.

In 1907 they moved to Unity where Mr. Kenyon had a dray line and delivery wagon and worked in the Peter Fritz Box Factory. In 1926 they moved to Riplinger where he was employed in the box factory.

They moved back to Unity in the spring of 1937 and in 1942 they moved to Loyal route 1 where they resided on a farm with their son, Keith.

There are nine living children, Mrs. Walter (Helen) Kleinsmith, Loyal route 1; Mrs. Rudolph (Bessie) Weinke, Glenwood City; Lester Kenyon, Spencer; Keith, Loyal; Mrs. Lester (Pearl) Morrison, Spencer; Bernard, Unity; Lee and Lloyd, Spencer and Pfc. Lorain Kenyon, Fort Lewis, Wash. Also there are 19 grandchildren.

Relatives attending included Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kleinsmith and family, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Weinke and family, Glenwood City; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Morrison and family, Lee and Lloyd Kenyon, Spencer; Keith Kenyon, Len Pickett, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Breuer, Mr. and Mrs. John Fuller, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kenyon and family, Unity. A large number of neighbors and friends also called. Pfc. Lorrain Kenyon of Fort Lewis, Washington, the youngest son was unable to attend.

Cards were played in the evening and lunch served at midnight. The table for the dinner was centered with a beautiful wedding cake in yellow and gold presented by Mrs. John Korntved, Spencer.

The Record joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for many more years of happy wedded life together.
