Mrs. Edw. Gustin Passes Away

Mrs. H. C. Andrews received the sad news Wednesday afternoon of the death of her only sister, Mrs. Edward Gustin of Lincoln, Nebraska, who passed away June 29th.

Louise Plomer was born Nov. 1, 1872 near Green Bay, Wis., and came to Spencer with her sister, Alice and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Septimus Plomer, the latter part of June, 1875.

She was educated in Spencer Public School and Waupaca High School after the Spencer fire. She taught for 5 years in rural schools and for two years in the Spencer Primary Department.

On June 27th, 1894 she was married to Edward E. Gustin of Linsoln, Negraska [Lincoln, Nebraska] in which city they lived until the time of her death. Her husband passed away 20 years ago on the same date as her death.

Louise was sick less than a month.

Three children were born to the Gustin’s, a son, Plomer, a promising young physician who served in the first World War, and who died of a heart attack, May 26, 1934 while serving as a government doctor in Aberdeen, Wash.; two daughters, Donna, wife of Dr. Ross Toggert, of Washington, D. C.; and Elinor, at home; one grandchild, Pamela Toggert.

Her father and mother passed away July 6, 1907 and Jan. 3, 1933, respectively.

Funeral Services were held in the Unitarian Church, of which she was an active member, at Lincoln, Nebraska, Saturday, July 2nd at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Andrews was unable to attend due to ill health.

Louise Plomer was one of the old Spencer girls of a sweet quiet nature, who had many friends here. She visited many times at the home of her sister after she lived in Lincoln and the sincere sympathy of these many friends of Louise and Alice goes out to the bereaved families.
