Whipple, Catherine L. (Marriage - 29 March1969)

Miss Catherine L. Whipple, daughter of Mrs. Lucene Whipple of Rt. 4 Marshfield exchanged nuptial vows with Harlan H. Schnabel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Schnabel of Rt. 2, Granton, in a 7 p.m. candlelight service Saturday in the First Presbyterian Church in Marshfield. Ray Siegel gave Miss Whipple in marriage. The Rev. Virgil Taylor was the officiating pastor.

The bride chose a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace, styled with a Sabrina neckline on the fitted bodice. The full skirt of silk organza was accented with lace on the front and at the hemline. A Watteau train was attached to the shoulder line. A bouffant illusion veil completed the ensemble. The wedding bouquet was a cascade of phalaenopsis orchids and stephanotis.

Bridal attendants were Mrs. Joel Evans of Champaign, Ill., as matron-of-honor; Shirley Schnabel of Granton, Ginger Carlson of Stevens Point and Judy Brock of Stratford as bridesmaids. They were attired in orchid floor-length, empire-styled formals of chiffon, fashioned with Watteau effect backs. Each wore a cluster headpiece with pouf veil. A hand crescent bouquet of purple asters, accented with camellia leaves, was carried by each aide.

Tom Pernsteiner of Granton was bestman; groomsmen were Wayne Kuhl of Granton, Jack Downer of Granton, and Franklin Boh of Neillsville. Ushers were Jerry Baltus and Bill Kuhl.

The new Mrs. Schnabel is a 1964 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School, and a 1968 graduate of Wisconsin State University-Stevens Point. She is teaching in Lincoln School in Appleton.

The groom was graduated in 1964 from Granton High School and is engaged in farming.

On their return from a wedding trip, they will be at home at 341½ Marcella St., in Kimberly.
