Degenhardt, Laverne (09 Nov. 1909 25 Feb. 1964)

A requiem High Mass was held for Mrs. Laverne Degenhardt, 54, Saturday morning, Feb. 29 at 10 o’clock, who dies at her home on Tuesday, February 25, at 5 p.m. after being ill for some time.

Mrs. Laverne Degenhardt, the former Laverne Ryan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ryan was born November 9, 1909 at Randolph. She moved to Loyal with her parents in 1918. She was married to Henry Degenhardt in 1926 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

The body lied in repose at the Myre Funeral Home from Thursday noon until the time of the funeral on Saturday. Mrs. Degenhardt was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, and a member of St. Mary’s Altar society. The Altar society attended the service in a body. Father N. E. King officiated at the services.

Active pallbearers were Joe Hubing, Roy Schroeder, Merlin Bender, Leo Geiger, Harry Schinsog, and Arthur Gregory.

Mrs. Degenhardt is survived by four daughters, Mrs. James (Carol) Whipple, Marshfield; Mrs. Edward (Eleanor) Bowman, Alma Center; Mrs. Leo (Jean) Verbrigge, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Sylvester (Arlene) Rizzi, at home. She is also survived by seven sons, Edwin, Grenwood; Harold, Colby; Roman; Loyal; Allen, Loyal; James, U.S. Army, Chicago; Raymond, and Ronald at home. By five brothers, James Ryan, Fox Lake; William, Cudahy; Lawrence and Henry of Loyal; and five sisters, Mrs. Tony (Grace) Klimmer of Loyal; Mrs. Bernard (Rosetta) Beaver, Marshfield; Mrs. Arthur (Margaret) Searvogel, Randolph; Gladys, Loyal; and Mrs. Wilder (Isabelle) Kennow, Marshfield. One sister, Mrs. Ed (Nellie) Searvogel preceded her in death.

Burial was in the parish cemetery.
