Greenwood (27 February 1969)

Alan Brux, 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Brux, had his left leg fractured in an accident while snowmobiling a mile north of the city. Alan was taken to Marshfield, where it is expected his leg will be in traction from four to eight weeks.

The Women’s Society of Christian service met Friday afternoon in Grace United Methodist Church. Mrs. Elery Moberg presided and conducted the third in a series of lessons on, “Letters to the Ephesians.” Plans were completed for the World Day of Prayer service. Mrs. Glen Drew showed pictures of her European trip. A lunch was served by Mrs. Donald Tieman, Jr., and Mrs. Jesse Tomlinson. The next meeting is scheduled for March 14, when a cancer film will be shown.

The Youth fellowship meeting was held at Zion United Church Sunday evening with Sharon Logue presiding. Charlene Fravert had devotions. A film was shown on a study of “Confucianism and Taoism.” The new Confirmands will be invited to the next meeting, March 30. Hosts will be the Norman Liebzeit and the Logue families. The group will conduct a sale of recordings. A lunch was served by the Vern Henaman and Leroy Fravert families.

Guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Decker and family, Dr. and Mrs. Gary Rohde and sons, Dean and Doulas of River Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart and children, Doris and Edward of Stanley and David Stewart of Madison.

Guests Sunday at the home of Mrs. Ben Dallman were Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Bergemann, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Fricke of Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. William Dallman of Buffalo City.

Miss Catherine Braun of Eau Claire spent Sunday with her aunt, Miss Ivy Moore.

Mr. and Mrs. William Dallman returned Monday to Buffalo City after a visit at the home of Mrs. Bertha Dallman and with other relatives and friends.

The Senior Citizens of Greenwood met Thursday evening in the Clark Electric auditorium. John Snedic, mayor of Greenwood, gave a “chalk talk” illustrated with cartoon drawings. Games followed the program and prizes were awarded. A lunch was served by the Eaton Gadders Homemaker club.
