Loren "Larry" Warner, 87, of Charleston, N.C., passed away on June 22, 2012 at the home of his daughter, Gail Mattix, with whom he lived.

Larry graduated from Wilmington, Del., High School and enlisted thereafter. He met Pat while they were both serving in the Navy during World War II. Larry completed his teaching certificate on June 2, 1950 at Taylor County Normal School in Medford, and taught for several years for the Westboro School District.

He later moved his family to Glendale, Mass. Larry earned an engineering technician certificate on January 1, 1965 through the General Electric Company where he worked in the GE ordinance department until his retirement. He was a long-standing volunteer with the Glendale Fire Department, and a member and past master of the Grand Masonic Lodge in Stockbridge, Mass.

Larry greatly enjoyed traveling. His most recent adventures included a cruise to Cozumel, a February 2011 trip to Wisconsin to visit with close relatives, several trips to Idaho to visit grandchildren and a September 2011 driving tour of Wyoming and Colorado.

Memorial notice: Entombment will be at the Veteran's Cemetery in Agawam, Mass. In lieu of a wake, service and flowers, it was Larry's wish that memorial donations be made to Williams High School Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 916, Stockbridge, MA 01262 or to Beacon Hospice who provided exemplary comfort and service to Larry and daughter, Gail, 501 Wando Park Blvd Ste. 100, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. 29464.
