Clara Staab (1 May 1885 – 26 Jan 1946)

Dorchester – Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Staab, 60, who died at her home Jan. 26 at 11:50 p.m. were conducted from St Peter’s Lutheran Church Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler, pastor, officiated at the rites and burial was made in Dorchester Memorial cemetery.

Clara Marquardt was born May 1, 1885, in the Town of Washington, Shawano County. She grew to womanhood at Bonduel and was united in marriage with Valentine Staab, who died about 19 years ago, on Dec. 21, 1908. She subsequently was married to and divorced from Gilbert Garvue, now of Minneapolis.

She moved to the Dorchester community after two years’ residence in Canada, and had resided here since.

Survivors include four sons, Leslie and Jake, both of Dorchester, Donald Staab of Reinbeck, Iowa, and Milton Staab, Camp Plauche, La.; three sisters, Mrs. Alma Gipp of Dorchester, Mrs. Hattie Langer of Oshkosh, and Mrs. Ida Groonwald, Shawano; four brothers, William Marquardt of Manitowoc, Robert Marquardt and Otto Marquardt, in Michigan, and Emil Marquardt, Rhinelander; and three grandchildren.
