Jurgemeyer, Anna (1 May 1872 – 28 July 1940)

Funeral services for Mrs. Louis Jurgemeyer, who died Sunday, were held Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock at the Lutheran church at Milan. The Rev. E. Maleug officiated at the rites. Internment was made in the church cemetery.

The pallbearers were Fred Bahr, William Denzine, George Empey, Fred ?, Herman Johnson and Albert Venzke. The flower girls were the Misses Margaret Gumz, Joyce and Elaine Paul and Joyce Soucek.

Mrs. Jurgemeyer was born Anna Buehring in Claremont, Minn., May 1, 1872. She was married in Iowa, Feb. 17, 1892. About 20 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Jurgemeyer came to Wisconsin and for the past six years have lived at Milan.

About three months ago she was taken to Wausau where she underwent an operation. Her death at the age of 68 years was caused by complications.

Mrs. Jurgemeyer, who was a member of the Lutheran church and the Milan Community Club, will be greatly missed by the entire community. Her many acts of kindness and readiness to help wherever illness struck have endeared her to all.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Emil Venzke, and twelve grandchildren, ten at Milan and two at Phoenix, Arizona. Three brothers, Eugene, Armin and Hugo Buehring of Sylvan Grove, Kansas; three sisters, Mrs. Mathilda Bremerson of Wichita, Kansas, Mrs. John Froger of Santa Monica, Calif., and Mrs. Olga Malchow of Phoenix, Ariz., also survive. An only son, Benno, preceded her in death at Phoenix eight years ago.

Among the relatives from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Jurgemeyer of Ocheyeden, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Emil Jurgemeyer of Lusernce, Ia., and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jurgemeyer of Keystone, Ia., Mrs. William Phillips of Hartley, Ia., Robert Venzke of Brighton, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Subert Rieck of Kiel, Wis., and Henry Glock of Weyauwega.

Mrs. Malchow, a sister, came from Phoenix three weeks ago to assist in nursing Mrs. Jurgemeyer during her fatal illness.
