Prentice, Anna (13 Nov. 1871 – 26 Sept. 1936)

Word was received here of the death of Mrs. Anna Bunkelman Prentice at the home of her daughter, Dr. and Mrs. J. B. Houlehan, Green Bay, at noon Saturday. Mrs. Prentice had been in ill health for the past three years and before being taken to Green Bay she was a patient at the Wausau hospital for four weeks. Four weeks ago she was taken to the home of her daughter at Green Bay.

She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, three sons and three daughters, Vernon of Boulder Dam, Col.; Chester and Elmer of Milan; Mrs. J. D. Houlehan and Mrs. J. B. Houlehan, Green Bay; and Mrs. Robert Wilkins, East Chicago, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Wogernese, Milan and Mrs. Dan Besaw, Green Bay; three brothers, George Werner, Green Bay; Louis Werner, Seymour; and Matt Werner, Little Black; also twelve grandchildren.

Since about 1902 she had charge of the Milan hotel until her health failed.

The deceased, Anna Besaw, was born in Kansas, Nov. 13, 1871. At an early age she moved with her parents to Seymour, Wis. She was married to August Bunkelman, July 10, 1896 at Seymour. Thirty-two years ago they came to Milan. Her husband died August 12, 1909. She was married to Robert Prentice in November, 1916.

Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. B. Houlehan at Green Bay and at the Methodist church at Seymour on Tuesday with internment at the Seymour cemetery. Those attending the funeral from here were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bunkelman, Mr. and Mrs. C. Bunkelman and daughter Lorraine and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wogernese and son Clarence.
