Raymond C. Jakubowski, age 82 of Kenosha, died Tuesday, August 18, 2009.

 

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 21, 2009. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 1919 54th Street. Interment will follow at St. Casimir Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue, Kenosha, WI, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Raymond C. "Ray" Jakubowski, 82, of Kenosha, passed away at home on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009.

 

Born May 9, 1927, in Rib Falls, Wis., Ray was the son of Steve and Mary (Obermeyer) Jakubowski.

 

On Aug. 27, 1949, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth "Betty" Berghammer, in

Athens, Wis. They relocated to Kenosha in 1961.

 

For 30 years, Ray was employed by AMC-Chrysler. He celebrated his retirement in 1987. Ray was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, the V.F.W. Post 1865 and UAW Local 72. He enjoyed working in his yard, watching wrestling, his travels to Europe and annual trips to Las Vegas.

 

Left to comfort one another with their memories of Ray are his wife, Betty; children,

Richard Jakubowski of Kenosha, Judy (Daniel) Knudson of Kenosha and Betty Rae

(Karl) Mattauch of Lindenhurst, Ill.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren;

siblings, Irene Stubbe of Wausau, Bob (Vania) Jakubowski of Chippewa Falls, Steve (Paula) Jakubowski of Kenosha and George (Lynn Novy) Jakubowski of Kenosha; sisterin-law, Jean Jakubowski of Kenosha, and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Jakubowski, and brother, LeRoy Jakubowski.
