Schemenauer, Anthony (16 Feb. 1912 - 2 June 1944)

Funeral services for Anthony J. Schemenauer, Jr., 32, who died Friday morning at Victory hospital, Stanley, were held Monday morning at 9:00 o’clock. The Rev. Pitzenberger officiated at the requiem high mass at the Stanley Catholic church. Internment was made in the Wuerzburg cemetery where the Rev. Raymond Schultz read the burial service.

The pallbearers were John Kremareiter, Andrew Kaiser, Rudolph Schillinger, Elmerd and Gilbert Schemenauer.

Among those from away who attended the funeral were: Joseph Radlinger, Manitowoc; Mr. and Mrs. Anton Kochan, Manitowoc, Mrs. William Klein and daughter, Rita, Milwaukee; Mrs. Henry Schemenauer, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Stowery, Eau Claire and many friends.

Anthony Schemenauer was born Feb. 16, 1912, in the town of Johnson. He grew to manhood in that community and lived there until about five years ago when he located at Stanley. There he was married in 1941 to Miss Marie Stowey.

He leaves his widow and twin children, David and Dianne; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Schemenauer, Wuerzburg; two brothers, Gilbert, at home, Elmerd, town of Frankfort, and three sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Amanda) Kaiser, Unity; Mrs. John (Rose) Kremareiter and Mrs. Rudolph (Caroline) Schillinger, Wuerzburg.
