Mellenthin, Wilhelmina (12 Apr. 1866 - 4 Feb. 1956)

SPENCER - The Rev. Randolph Mueller will officiate at funeral services in Trinity Lutheran Church here at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon for Mrs. Julius H. Mellenthin, a former resident of this area who died at 3:15 p.m. Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Brei, Arpin, where she had lived for more than 20 years.

She was 89 years of age. Burial will follow in the Trinity Lutheran cemetery.

The body will repose at the Swarthout Funeral Home here until one hour before the church service.

The former Wilhelmina Seegert was born in Germany April 12, 1866, and came to America when she was 18 years of age. After her marriage to Julius H. Mellenthin at Hustisford in 1886, the couple moved to a farm near Spencer. Her husband died in 1916.

Mrs. Mellenthin was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. In her younger years she was an active member of the Ladies Aid and other church organizations.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Herman (Bertha) Bruss, Spencer; Mrs. Albert (Alma) Utecht, New Rockford, N.D.; Mrs. Otto (Ella) Luther, Marshfield; Mrs. Walter (Edna) Brei, Arpin; four stepchildren, 32 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren. Two sons and three daughters also preceded her in death.
