Lund, Lorraine M. (Marriage - 18 SEP 1951)

Miss Lorraine Mae Lund, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lund, and Stanley F. Pomietlo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pomietlo, all of Stanley, were married Tuesday, Sept. 18, 1951, in St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Stanley.

Repeating vows after Father Edwin L. Knauf at 9:30 a.m., the bride wore a gown of white satin entrain. Three rows of satin piping edged the gown’s sweetheart neckline and created a scroll design at the hipline. Her fingertip veil of French illusion was held in place by a satin sweetheart bonnet trimmed with rosettes of illusion and pearls. White pompons in a heart form outlined with lacelon ruffles, were carried by the bride.

A blue satin gown, styled like the bridal dress was worn by Miss Joan Lund, Stanley, serving as her sister’s maid of honor. He bouquet was formed of yellow, fawn and rust colored pompons, trimmed with yellow lacelon.

The bridesmaids, Miss Virginia Kinas, Thorp, and Mrs. George Lund of Stanley, wore gowns of yellow satin. Their bouquets were like the maid of honor’s flowers.

Vincent Pomietlo, Stanley, served as his brother’s best man, and the bride’s brother, George Lund, was groomsman.

The bride’s mother pinned a corsage of pink and white chrysanthemums to her navy blue suit, worn with black accessories. A dress of slate blue satin and crepe with navy blue accessories, was the costume worn by the bridegroom’s mother. Yellow and rust chrysanthemums formed her corsage.

A breakfast was served at the Lund home for the immediate families, and a supper and reception were held in the auditorium at Stanley, followed by a dance.
