E. B. FINNEY, express, Eau Claire, was born in Groton, Tompkins Co., N.Y., Dec. 24, 1827; came to Wisconsin in the Fall of 1848, settled in Columbia County, and came to Eau Claire in 1872. Mr. Finney was engaged in ? until he came to Eau Claire, with the exception of a period 1855 to 1856, when he kept a hotel in Princeton, what is now Green Lake County. Was married in Watertown, Dec. 29, 1850, to Miss Ellen C. Cogan, of Watertown, formerly from Lowell, Mass. They have six children — Henrietta (now Mrs. C. M. Clark), Albert H., William H., Barnum H., Ella M. and Charles S. He is a member of West Eau Claire Lodge, No. 112, A., F. & A. M.
