Dahl, Alma J. (14 JUN 1910 - 23 FEB 2013)
Alma J. Dahl, age 102, Colby, former Stetsonville area resident, died peacefully
on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, while surrounded by her loving family at the
Colonial Center, Colby, where she had resided for the past 11 ½ years.
Alma was born June 14, 1910, in the Town of Little Black, to the late William
and Lendia (Lowery) Dahl. She attended Little Black Schools.
After school, she moved to Chicago where she was a nanny and housekeeper until
1951, when she then moved to the Stetsonville area to care for her parents.
Since there was two Alma’s working at Bootzins IGA in Stetsonville at that time,
she was known as “Junior”. She worked there until her retirement in 1975. Alma
enjoyed knitting, crocheting, flower gardening, reading, playing board games and
the piano. Alma was a very active member in her religion and faith.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Fred Dahl; and a sister,
Veria Harris.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. on Wednesday,
Feb. 27, 2013, at the Hemer Funeral Home, Medford. Mr. Perry Pearson will
officiate. Interment will be at the Medford Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grand-nephews Dustin Dahl, Nick, Chad, and Tim Harris,
Stacey Hansen, Scott and Rick Piller.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Alma’s family to be designated at a
later date.
