Witt, Harlan H. (16 APR 1923 - 07 MAR 2013)

Harlan H. Witt, age 89, of Colby, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Pine Ridge Assisted Living in Colby.

A funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Colby.

Rev. Mark Neumann will officiate. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the church in Colby. Burial will follow the service at the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Harlan was born April 16, 1923, to Charles and Hilda (Molle) Witt in the Town of Green Grove. He received his education at Elmwood County School. Harlan and Margaret Schilling were joined in marriage on June 19, 1946. He farmed in the Town of Beaver and moved into Colby upon retirement in 1991.

Harlan enjoyed polka dancing, square dancing, and playing sheepshead.

Harlan is survived by his wife, Margaret Witt; his children, Dennis Witt of Spencer, Dorine Poehnelt of De Pere, and Donald Witt of Spencer; his grandchildren, Patty Poehnelt, Delaine Laski, and Amber Elsenpeter; and four great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters, Elaine (Late Milford) Frome and Joanne (Jack) Leichtman.

Harlan is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Marion, who died in infancy.

Maurina Schilling Funeral Home of Colby is assisting the family with arrangements.
