Golden Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Len Gehrke entertained about 50 guests Sunday, May 23, for dinner at their house in the Town of Sherman in honor of 50th Wedding anniversary of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gehrke Sr. of Marshfield route 4.

The table was beautifully decorated with a white and gold wedding cake made by their daughter, Mrs. Rollie Lee of Sheboygan, mounted on golden stairs with gold candles and Lilly of the Valley on each stair and flanked by Calla Lilies, with a minature [sic] bride and groom on top of the cake.

The home was decorated with gold en bells and streamers.

All nine children were present for the occasion as were 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Those present were Elmer Gehrke and Mr. and Mrs. John Gehrke, Ft. Atkinson; Mr. and Mrs. Al Dassler, Ilika, Wis.; Miss Hattie Gehrke, Marshfield; Mrs. Conrad Weina, Manitowoc; Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Lee and Sharon, Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Rob Gehrke and family, Auburndale; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gehrke and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Smogoleski and Reed and Miss Darlene Heide, Two Rivers; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gehrke Jr. and family, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Len Gehrke, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Gehrke and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Dietsche, Loyal; Orin Gehrke, Conde, S. Dakota; Mr. Wm. Neinas, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Albrecht and Mr. and Mrs. Emory Albrecht, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Neinas, Chili; and Mr. and Mrs. Gust Heintz, Abbotsford.

The honored couple were presented with a lovely mantle clock by their children.

The day was spent socially and pictures were taken of the occasion.

The Record joins the many local friends of Mr. and Mrs. Gehrke in extending congratulations and best wishes for many more years of happy wedded life together.
